This was a painting made to use as a cover for the book The Half-Blood Prince from J.K. Rowling.
(you really don't have to read the following)
There was supposed to be a lousy symbolical meaning with all this but I messed it up so I'm just going to explain it
It's easy actually, this is the only book of the serie where the slytherins appear to win, for once. So what do we have here? In the background, there is feathers, behind the snake, there is lions' claw attached to a string, and there was supposed to be a badger's skull in the box against which the snake is resting his head. Hum.
And then there is the snake! The only one alive amongst the remains of the others!
AMAZING!
